A lovely piece of history, in a unique combination... The handle collar is stamped with the makers "Robert Burley & Sons Ltd." and the head is stamped "Hard Pick Limited, Sheffield England" along with the Military broad arrow and dated 1942.
In good overall condition, it shows age-related wear and marks, all adding to it's character.
The handle has been gently sanded and treated with linseed oil for preservation, while the axe head has been lightly cleaned to reveal its details without losing its authentic patina.
