A lovely piece of history, stamped head with the makers name "Griffin" along with the Military broad arrow and dated 1943.
In good overall condition, it shows age-related wear and marks, all adding to it's character.
The handle has been gently sanded and treated with linseed oil for preservation, while the axe head has been lightly cleaned to reveal its details without losing its authentic patina.
Measures approximately 91cm length x 55cm head.
